West 49th Street Reopened

On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, West 49th Street just west of South Louise Avenue reopened to one lane of traffic in each direction on the north side of 49th Street.

New Fire Chief Named

Division Chief Brad Goodroad has been named the new Chief of Sioux Falls Fire Rescue by Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether. Goodroad has a Master of Science degree in administrative studies from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion. He also completed the Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD, and is credentialed with the Chief Fire Officer designation.

Big Sioux River Greenway Cleanup is Saturday, April 22

The City of Sioux Falls will host the fourth annual community-wide Big Sioux River Greenway Cleanup on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Pre-event registration is not required, and all ages are welcome. The cleanup event has removed more than 10,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from the banks of the Big Sioux River over the past three years.
