Street Construction –
Ralph Rogers Road and Old Yankton Road

Beginning on Monday, August 28, 2017, the intersection of Ralph Rogers Road and Old Yankton Road will be closed to allow construction crews to install sanitary sewer.

This work is anticipated to be complete in approximately two weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Pavement Repairs - Minnesota Avenue
from 22nd Street to 18th Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, Phase Two work will begin for the Minnesota Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project from 22nd Street to 18th Street.

Phase Two work will be along the center three lanes of Minnesota Avenue between 18th Street and 22nd Street. Traffic will be reduced to one lane northbound and southbound. The east and west leg of the 18th Street intersection will remain closed to traffic. Traffic will be detoured along Grange Avenue, Phillips Avenue, and 26th Street.

This work will consist of pavement patching and sidewalk radiuses reconstruction to meet current ADA requirements. Work will also include storm sewer repairs, water utility repairs, sanitary sewer repairs, traffic signal work, and installation of new street lights.

Phase Two work is anticipated to be complete in approximately two weeks.

Overall project final completion is expected by the end of October.

Slurry Sealing on Lewis Avenue

Beginning on Sunday, August 27, 2017, slurry sealing will begin on Lewis Avenue from Benson Road to 60th Street North. Lanes will be closed for slurry sealing, however, traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times.

This work is anticipated to be complete by the end of the day.

Slurry Sealing - East 49th Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, 49th Street will be closed from Southeastern Avenue to Bahnson Avenue for slurry sealing. Residents will be able to access their driveways during the project except for when the slurry seal work is occurring in the immediate area. Motorists should use 41st Street or 57th Street as alternate routes.

This work is anticipated to be complete by the end of the day.

Dakota Avenue Parking Lane Closure

Beginning on Monday, August 28, 2017, the east parking lane of Dakota Avenue will be closed north of Eighth Street to accommodate the construction of the new City Administration Building. The current perimeter fence will move to the east a few feet. The east most driving lane will remain open during the closure.

This project is anticipated to be complete in 2018.

Pavement Patching - Benson Road
from Cliff Avenue to I-229

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, pavement patching work will begin along Benson Road from Cliff Avenue to I-229. Only one lane will be closed at a time. Westbound traffic will be maintained in the other lane.

Phase 1 work will be along the northern two lanes of westbound traffic from Lewis Avenue to Cliff Avenue. Work consists of saw-cutting the patch area, removal of deteriorated pavement material, and filling the patch area with flowable patch material.

This phase of the project is anticipated to be complete in approximately two weeks. All work is to be completed by September 29, 2017.

Street Closure - Highline Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, South Highline Avenue south of Arrowhead Parkway will be closed to complete a watermain connection. Access to Highline Avenue north of Arrowhead Parkway will be maintained.

This work is part of the ongoing Arrowhead Parkway reconstruction project and is antipated to be complete and re-opened to traffic within a few days.

Phase 1 of this project is anticipated to be fully open to traffic by late fall of 2017, with additional work between Highline Avenue and Sycamore Avenue occurring in 2018.

The overall project is scheduled to be complete by late fall of 2018.
