City Issues Request for Proposals for Uptown Property

The City of Sioux Falls is issuing a formal request for proposals (RFP) regarding a potential opportunity to redevelop City-owned parcels of land located in the Uptown area of downtown Sioux Falls. The parcels are located at 701 and 721 North Phillips Avenue, just west of Falls Park West and the future Levitt Pavilion.

Since the completion of Phillips to the Falls in 2004, significant investment of public and private dollars has occurred in the Uptown area. In recent years the City has made land available, resulting in several million dollars of private investment. The City believes that this remaining Uptown property is prime for redevelopment, and the timing is right with the installation of the Levitt Pavilion immediately across Phillips Avenue, which is planned to start hosting events in 2019.

“This is a great opportunity to continue the revitalization of Uptown,” says Daren Ketcham, Director of Community Development. “This development opportunity will complement the public and private investments in the area and strengthen the heart of our city.”

A copy of the RFP can be found at Formal proposals and any related questions should be directed to Scott Rust, Purchasing Manager, at Proposals must be received by the City no later than 2 p.m. Central Time on Friday, April 14, 2017. If the City decides to award a proposal on the property, it would likely do so in summer 2017.
