Bicycle Repair Stations Donated to the City
The Ride Across South Dakota (RASDak) and the Bike Sioux Falls organizations will donate two bicycle repair stations to the City of Sioux Falls at a presentation at 12 noon on Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Office (100 East Sixth Street). One bike repair station will be installed on the bike trail this spring, while the second repair station will be installed at The Downtown Bus Stop later this year.
The bike repair stations will be free to use for the public and include air pumps and provide tools necessary to perform basic repairs and maintenance—from changing a flat tire to adjusting brakes.
“The repair stations will provide Sioux Falls bicyclists with a great way to quickly make a few easy repairs to your bicycle when you are out and about bicycling in the community. We greatly thank RASDak and Bike Sioux Falls for their generous donations,” says Sam Trebilcock, City of Sioux Falls Transportation Planner.
One bike repair station currently exists on the bike trail at the Elmen Station Point near 49th Street and the Big Sioux River, northeast of Sertoma Park. The new bike repair station likely will be placed on the east side of Sioux Falls to serve additional customers.
