Police Officers Handing Out Treats to Kids During the Seventh Annual Stickers and Snickers Event
Law enforcement officers from the Sioux Falls Police Department, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, and Metro Communications will hand out candy to children who are trick or treating during the Sixth Annual Stickers and Snickers Event. Over the years, children have been delighted by law enforcement officers handing out sticker badges and candy. The officers will be in Sioux Falls neighborhoods on Halloween night from 6 to 8 p.m.
“Handing out treats to children and their families is a great way to interact with community members,” says Police Chief Matt Burns. “The officers provide an increased presence in neighborhoods during Halloween and give motorists a visible reminder to drive safely on a night when many children are present.”
All officers will have candy and stickers to hand out, but calls will still take priority. Special thanks to Lewis Drug for providing the candy to law enforcement.
