Lane Closures-Benson Road from Cliff Avenue to I-229

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, Phase 2 pavement patching work will begin along Benson Road from Cliff Avenue to I-229.

Phase 2 work will be along the center three lanes between Lewis Avenue and Potsdam Avenue.  Traffic will be maintained in the outside lanes.

This phase of the project is anticpated to be complete in approximately one week. All work is to be completed by September 29, 2017.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

East Anoka Circle Street Construction

Beginning on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 construction crews will be working on East Anoka Circle adjacent to South Bahnson Avenue. The work will consist of asphalt patching and street subgrade repair. Local traffic may be limited during construction and may limit access to driveways in the immediate work area. The work is expected to be completed within one week with favorable weather.

Street Closure – 47th Street and Plateau Trail

Beginning on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, 47th Street will be closed at Plateau Trail to allow construction crews to perform asphalt paving work. This work is expected to be completed within one week.

Drainage Improvements – South Westport Avenue (West 49th Street to West 43rd Street)

Beginning on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, construction crews will begin work on drainage improvements at the intersections of South Westport Avenue and West 47th Street and South Westport Avenue and South Golden Creek Place.

During construction, on-street parking will be restricted on South Westport Avenue between West 49th Street and West 43rd Street in order to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction.  Additionally, South Golden Creek Place will be reduced to one lane intermittently. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times.

Construction is anticipated to be complete in November 2017.

Carter Place and East Park Drive Street Construction

Beginning on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, construction crews will be working in the intersection of East Park Drive and South Carter Place. The work will consist of asphalt patching and street subgrade repair. Through traffic will not be allowed on Carter Place and may be limited on Park Drive during work hours. The work is expected to be completed within one week with favorable weather.

Lane Closure – North Phillips Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday morning, September 6, 2017, the southbound lane of North Phillips Avenue will be closed to through traffic between West Eighth Street and West Ninth Street.

GeoTek Engineering will be performing some coring and anticipates completion by the afternoon of September 6, 2017.

Lyncrest Avenue Closure

Beginning on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, South Lyncrest Avenue will be closed at 69th Street. Access to businesses along Lyncrest Avenue should use either South Avalon Avenue or West LaQuinta Street. Crews are expected to have Lyncrest Avenue re-opened to traffic within a week. This work is part of the ongoing 69th Street and Western Avenue reconstruction project.

This project is expected to be fully open to traffic by late fall with final completion scheduled for the spring of 2018.
