Gitchie Girl Authors to Discuss New Book Rap Sheet: Inside the Life of a Career Criminal

Programs by Phil and Sandy Hamman focused on Gitchie Girl, their retelling of the 1973 murders of four teenagers at Gitchie Manitou State Preserve, drew capacity crowds to several branch libraries.

Now popular true-crime writers have released a new book, Rap Sheet: Inside the Life of a Career Criminal. It recounts the story of Matt Lofton, who supplied the Sioux Falls region with drugs, even while imprisoned. Finally sentenced to solitary confinement, he experienced a rebirth that opened his life to love and peace, releasing him from the hate and violence that had driven his life.

Siouxland Libraries Ronning Branch, 3100 East 49th Street, will host an author visit by the couple, Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Copies of the Hammans’ books will be available for purchase.
