Due to Construction: Marion Park Will Be Closing June 4
Beginning Monday, June 4, 2018, Marion Park, located at 5330 West 45th Street, will be closed due to construction.
Marion Park will be closing on Monday, June 4, to complete construction activities within the park. The project is being completed in conjunction with a large neighborhood drainage improvement project and will make much needed upgrades to the park’s facilities. Improvements within the park include new play equipment, rubber safety surfacing, a concrete walking loop, connective pathways, a drinking fountain, landscaping, grading, and a new irrigation system.
Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation offers a variety of recreational opportunities throughout the area. Frequent visitors to Marion Park are urged to explore some of the exciting opportunities found within nearby parks. Suggested locations include Kuehn Park, Bakker Park, Memorial Park, Southern Vistas Park, Galway Park, and Dunham Park.
Construction activity within the park is anticipated to be completed later this fall. The park will reopen after vegetation has been sufficiently reestablished and able to support activity.
The park will be closed during construction. Visitors of the Marion Park area are urged to use caution while near the construction area.
