Structure Fire at 5802 West Thrush Place

On Monday, May 7, 2018, at 9:25 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 5802 West Thrush Place.

First-arriving crews found the deck and adjacent side of the house on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished with some fire extension into the residence. The structure received moderate damage, resulting in the occupant being displaced. There was no report of firefighter or civilian injuries.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with four fire apparatus, three support vehicles, and a total of 19 personnel. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted on the scene by the Fire Rescue chaplain, Sioux Falls Police Department, Paramedics Plus ambulance, MidAmerican Energy, Xcel Energy, and the Red Cross.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind residents to practice fire safety and have an evacuation plan in place.
