Help Choose America’s Favorite Novel!
Siouxland Libraries’ Adult Reading Program, which runs May 22, 2018, through October 30, 2018, will be part of South Dakota Public Broadcasting’s Great American Read. The nationwide campaign to choose America’s favorite novel from among 100 popular books begins May 22 at 7 p.m. (CDT) with the public television series.
The Great American Read is designed to launch a national conversation about the ways the selected novels affect, reflect, and connect us all. This summer and into fall, readers are invited to champion their favorites. Ultimately one will be named America’s best-loved book. The list is at www.sdpb.org/greatread.
Adults can sign up for the program at any Siouxland Libraries branch or on Friday, June 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Summer Reading Kick-Off Party at the Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue. Those who sign up and log their reading will be eligible for prize drawings, made possible by Caribou Coffee.
