"A Thanksgiving Celebration"

Submit a short story describing the experiences and events of a Thanksgiving Day celebration, based on a real experience, fiction, or blend of both.

Official Contest Rules:

1. Open to 6th-12th graders.
2. Stories must be rated "G" or "PG".
3. 100 to 500 words in length.

Submit stories with a completed entry form to any Siouxland Libraries branch November 1 through 30. Stories and entry forms can also be emailed to caillelibrary@siouxfalls.org with the subject "Teen Writing Contest."

First-, second- and third-place winners will be selected from two age groups: 6th-8th grade; 9th-12th grade, based on the following criteria:

1. Plot,
2. Characters,
3. Use of language,
4. Grammar/syntax,
5. Adherence to rules.

Prizes will be awarded to all winners, and stories posted on the Siouxland Libraries' website and Facebook page, as well as displayed in the teen section of the Caille Branch Library.
Winners will be announced on Monday, December 11.
