Reimagined Book Covers


Siouxland Libraries is seeking submissions for a Reimagined Book Covers Art Show to be held at the Downtown Library May 1 - June 30. It will be held in conjunction with a display of redesigned classic book covers from artists worldwide, a project called Recovering the Classics.

Siouxland Libraries invites local artists to create their own redesigned book covers for this exhibit. Examples from the Recovering The Classic project as well as book titles for artists to choose from can be found here:

There will be a People's Choice vote with prizes awarded for the top three pieces.  The winners will be announced in July. The first place winner will receive a $100 cash prize. Gift cards will be awarded to second and third place winners. Each of the three winning artists will also be offered a solo show at Siouxland Libraries.

Pieces must be 12" x 18" or 18" x 24" or 18" x 26" and ready to hang.

Please submit a digital photo of your work to Calla Jarvie at by Monday, April 17. Selected pieces must be delivered to the Downtown Library by Sunday, April 30.

  • The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
  • Little Women
  • Moby Dick
  • Pride and Prejudice
  • Treasure Island
  • The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
