Help Shape the Future of Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation!
Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation announces public forums on the department’s Comprehensive Parks and Recreation System Plan. The public is invited to participate in a process designed to build a flourishing future for the Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation system.
Forums will feature a presentation on the overall plan and its purpose, as well as interactive questions. Following the presentation, there will be multiple stations and activities to share thoughts about parks and recreation opportunities in Sioux Falls.
What parks and recreation facilities do you want to see in Sioux Falls? Do our program offerings meet the needs of you and/or your family? Now is your opportunity to let us know. Come and share your ideas for parks and recreation in Sioux Falls.
City residents are invited to attend any of the following public meetings, and participate as a part of the Comprehensive Parks and Recreation System Plan process:

In addition to public meetings, the consulting team will:
- Mail a statistically valid survey to households throughout the City;
- Conduct an open online survey;
- Schedule interviews and focus groups with the public;
- Assess program and facility needs;
- Review future demographic data, trends, and usage statistics.
“Sioux Falls’ parks and recreation system is one of the best quality-of-life assets the City offers to residents throughout the community,” says Mayor Paul TenHaken. “Creating a vision for the future of parks and recreation depends on input and participation from our residents, and I look forward to hearing what the public envisions for the future.”
The department will also launch a website to serve as the crowdsourcing platform and the one-stop shop for all information related to the Comprehensive Parks and Recreation System Plan, including meeting details, technical reports, and relevant contact information. Links will soon be available at www.siouxfalls.org/parks and www.plansfparks.org. The Comprehensive Parks and Recreation System Plan is expected to be complete by the end of 2019.
