Science in Our Backyard

See how people use science every day to make our world a better place. Join us for a science series at the Ronning Branch on Tuesday evenings. This series is recommended for teens and adults.

August 5 at 7 p.m. — Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Fire Marshal Dean Lanier will discuss how his team uses science to pinpoint how and where a fire starts.

Rockin' Roller Coaster

Build a hair-raising coaster thrill ride with Team Science members from the Washington Pavilion’s Kirby Science Discovery Center. Work in teams to explore the science, technology, engineering and math involved in creating a realistic working model. For students in grades 4-12.

Teen Reading Program

Join our Spark a Reaction reading program for teens (students who have completed fifth grade and up). Read and log five books between May 24 and August 2 to receive a keychain flashlight and other prizes. Submit online book reviews to qualify for weekly prize drawings and our grand prize.
