Author Talk: Norma and Jerry Wilson
A popular South Dakota literary couple, Norma and Jerry Wilson, will be at Siouxland Libraries’ Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue, Thursday, March 19, 2020, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Each will discuss one of their recent works as part of their presentation, South Dakota to Mexico.
Norma’s pick is Frog Creek Road. A book of poems, it offers a 35-year seasonal chronicle of times with family, friends, and the flora and fauna surrounding the couple’s prairie bluff home near Vermillion, SD. Now retired, she is a University of South Dakota English Professor Emeritus.
Jerry taught literature and writing at the college level before serving as managing editor of South Dakota Magazine. He now writes books that explore the natural world and fiction that reimagines history and contemporary life. He’ll discuss his novel Eden to Orizaba, a love story that also sheds light on the impact of poorly regulated, NAFTA-facilitated agribusiness, and industry that drives desperate Mexican workers north.
