RBdigital Transfer to iPod and MP3 Player Guide

Create an Account:

  1. Go to https://siouxlandsd.rbdigital.com/.
  2. Click Create New Account in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Enter your 14-digit library card number.
  4. Create an account with your email address, username, and password. From now on, you’ll use the username to login to RBdigital.

Setting Account Preferences

  1. Log into your RBdigital account.
  2. Click the menu icon in the upper left corner of the page and select Settings from the menu. 
  3. Under Audio Download Method, change the setting to Download zip file (for non-protected titles only)

Searching for compatible titles

  1. Library customers may check out up to 12 items at one time, and place holds on up to 15 items.
  2. Click the Search icon (magnifying glass) in the upper right corner and choose Advanced Search.       
  3. To find audiobooks that are available for transfer, change Digital Rights type to Non-Protected, then click search.
  4. Once you’ve found a title to checkout, choose Checkout.


Download using Windows

  1. You will then be prompted to download the .zip fil of the title's audio. Select Save File and click Ok
    Note: Internet Explorer users may be prompted to retry this step. If this occurs, you can retry the download by clicking the menu icon followed by Checked Out. Clicking Download will initiate the download once again.
  2. Save this file to your desktop. 
  3. Return to your desktop, right-click on the .zip file and left-click Extract All...
  4. Follow the instructions provided by the Extraction Wizard. 
  5. A separate folder will be created on your desktop with the same name as the .zip file (title of the audiobook). 

Transferring to an iPod

  1. Open the folder and right-click on the M3U file (with the same name as the book title).     
  2. Select Open with iTunes.
  3. A playlist of all tracks of the audiobook will be created. 
  4. Verify your Apple device is connected and click the button for your device. 
  5. Click On This [name of your device].
  6. Click Add To...
  7. Click Playlists.
  8. Drag the audiobook playlist to your device. 
  9. The audiobook is ready to be enjoyed. 

Transferring to an MP3 Player

  1. Open your device folder.
  2. Left-click on the newly-created folder on your desktop and drag this folder into your device folder. Do not add it to any existing subfolders.
  3. The audiobook is ready to be enjoyed. 

Download and transfer using Mac

  1. You will be prompted to download the .zip file of the title's audio.
  2. From your Downloads folder, double-click on the .zip file. Archive Utlity will create a new folder. 
  3. Connect your MP3 device.
  4. Drag and drop the file from your Downloads folder to your MP3 device. 

Transferring to an iPod

  1. Open the folder and double-click the M3U file (with the same name as the book title).     
  2. iTunes will open a playlist with all tracks of the audiobook. 
  3. Verify your Apple device is connected and click the button for your device. 
  4. Click On This [name of your device].
  5. Click Add To...
  6. Click Playlists.
  7. Drag the audiobook playlist to your device. 
  8. The audiobook is ready to be enjoyed.
