Book Nooks Coming to a Business Near You

Whether it's at the doctor's office, car repair shop, the salon, or somewhere else, there are a lot of places where we can be stuck waiting. There is an extra challenge if you have kids to entertain.
Enter Book Nooks.
Siouxland Libraries is excited to launch a partnership with REACH Literacy to provide a curated selection of children’s books at businesses where families are waiting to inspire reading wherever you are. Exposing children to stories at an early age builds their vocabulary, which leads to a solid foundation for learning to read and LOVING it, too!
“We share a common mission of fostering a love for reading and increasing literacy within our community,” Molly O’Connor, the executive director of REACH Literacy says, “By placing these little libraries in businesses, we hope to create more opportunities for children to engage with books, especially in moments where they might otherwise be waiting with nothing to do. It's a natural extension of our commitment to making books accessible to all and promoting a culture of reading in the Sioux Empire .”
What to Expect
A Book Nook will be stocked with children’s books selected by Siouxland Libraries and REACH. If you read at one of our locations, be sure to grab a bookmark. Take your bookmark to visit REACH’s storefront at the Western Mall, 2101 W 41st St, Suite 23, to get five FREE children’s books. Keep that bookmark out—bring it to any library branch to get a FREE Library Llama Bag, while supplies last. We can help you sign up for a library card or make sure your account is up to date. The best part? You can fill your bag with the items you check out with your library card!
Where can I find one?
Book Nooks are currently located at the Department of Social Services, Falls Community Health, Bloom & Learn, Flourish Wellness + Birth Co., Move U, Elegant Mommy, and the Midco Aquatic Center.
