OverDrive App FAQs
Why should I switch to Libby? Will I be required to switch?
Libby was created by OverDrive as an enhanced reading app and connects you to the same content as the OverDrive app. In early 2023, OverDrive plans to discontinue the OverDrive app in favor of Libby. Read more at https://www.overdrive.com/apps/libby/switchtolibby
I have the OverDrive app on my device. Can I still use it?
Yes, for right now, existing OverDrive app users can continue browsing, borrowing, and enjoying titles in the app.
Can I still download eAudiobooks to my desktop computer?
Users who already have OverDrive for Windows or OverDrive for Mac installed on their device can continue using those applications. However, OverDrive will not support new downloads of those applications. As technology continues to evolve and trend toward the use of mobile devices, OverDrive does not plan to build support in Libby for downloading audiobooks to a desktop computer and transferring them to an MP3 player.
