Computers and More

Internet and Wi-Fi Access 

Siouxland Libraries is dedicated to digital equity and provides Internet access to computers and public Wi-Fi at each library location. 

Access 

  • Computers and Wi-Fi are open to both cardholders and guests. 
  • Each of our Sioux Falls and Brandon branches has a computer with JAWs screen reader software for any guest who may need it. These computers our labeled #50 at each of these branches and can be reserved. See the Reservation section below.

Reservations 

  • Computers can be reserved up to seven (7) days in advance. 
  • Make a reservation in person or by calling the library at 605-367-8700
  • Walk-in use is welcome. 

Time 

  • To provide equal opportunity for all customers, the library limits each person's daily use to a maximum of two (2) hours. 
  • Adult and teen computers offer 60-minute sessions. 
  • Children's computers offer 30-minute sessions. 
  • Some locations may offer 15-minute sessions on express stations. 
  • If no one is waiting to use a computer, sessions may be extended. 

Software & Browsers 

  • Available browsers include Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox. 
  • Microsoft Office products available are Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

Printing 

Printing from public computers is available: 

  • Black & White: $0.10 per page 
  • Color: $0.25 per page 

Mobile printing services are available at select library locations. 

Scan and Fax Stations 

  • These kiosks provide free, self-service scanning. 
  • Scan to USB, email, and more. 
  • Translate a document into another language. 
  • Self-service faxing is available for $0.25 per page within the United States and Canada. International faxing is $1.00 per page.
  • Available at Caille, Downtown, Oak View, Prairie West, and Ronning.

Technology for Beginners 

Beginners can practice technology skills at no cost with Digital Learn Resources (basic internet and email classes) and GFC Global Resources (Microsoft Office Programs and online safety). Siouxland Libraries also provides free, in-person technology classes.
