We are proud to be working with the South Dakota Department of Health and other healthcare partners regarding the distribution of COVID-19 vaccine to our community. The COVID-19 vaccine is the best way to protect you and your loved ones from the virus.
You may be wondering when you can receive the vaccine. Because vaccine supplies are still limited, we are following the phased approach as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process. When you qualify for the vaccine, we will notify you.
The vaccines that are currently available gone through rigorous testing to show they are safe and are about 95% effective in preventing COVID. The more people receive the vaccine, the more we can prevent others from getting sick. Once you get the vaccine, it is important to continue wearing a mask, social distancing and practicing good hand hygiene. We know people are anxious to get back to a more normal routine, and vaccine is the best way to do that.
