PATH Recommended SAFE Routes to School

Safety is a parent’s responsibility. Children learn safety lessons at school. Those lessons can be reinforced or destroyed in minutes by the actions of parents. Encourage your children to cross streets safely at corners, follow established “safe routes to school,” and obey all traffic laws. Don’t teach disrespect of the law by disobeying parking regulations or telling your child to cross streets at midblock. A few minutes of convenience for a parent can result in a lifetime of suffering for a child.
