Select Households to Receive Parks and Recreation Survey: Help Us Plan Sioux Falls Parks
The City of Sioux Falls will be conducting a Community Interest and Opinion Survey in May 2019 to receive input and feedback from the community on parks, recreation, trails, and open space. The goal of the statistically valid survey is to gather feedback from residents regarding potential programs, services, and amenities residents are most interested in having in the community.
The needs assessment survey will be mailed out to randomly selected households in the city. The results will help establish priorities for the future improvement of Parks and Recreation facilities, programs, and services within the City of Sioux Falls. The survey takes 10–15 minutes to complete.
PROS Consulting, Inc., and ETC Institute were hired to perform the Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment and incorporate results into the Comprehensive Parks and Recreation System Plan.
“Resident input is critical to determining the parks and recreation needs and priorities of the Sioux Falls community,” said Don Kearney, Director of Parks and Recreation. “The more people who fill out the survey, the more accurate and reliable our survey results will be.”
As part of the goals of the One Sioux Falls framework, engaging the public to influence the vision and priorities of the Parks and Recreation system is important to providing services and amenities. The public’s involvement in the survey is their opportunity to help influence those priorities.
