Street Closure - Sixth Street between Minnesota Avenue to Main Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the City of Sioux Falls will be doing a mill and overlay on East Sixth Street from Minnesota Avenue to Main Avenue, including the intersection of Main Avenue and Dakota Avenue.

Sixth Street will be closed during the milling and periodically for street crews to prepare for the overlay.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 26th Street

Beginning on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the outside westbound lane of East 26th Street will be closed at the intersection of Fifth Avenue to allow crews to perform a concrete pavement repair. Westbound traffic will be moved to the center lane and eastbound traffic will be maintained in the inside eastbound lane.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week.

Lane Closure – Main Avenue

Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019, South Main Avenue will be closed between West 11th Street and West 12th Street. 

Quality Welding & Mfg. will be performing work on the Washington Pavilion.

This work is anticipated to be complete by 2:00 p.m. September 26, 2019.

Tennis Lane Improvements Project – Phase 5

Beginning on Thursday September 26, 2019, Tennis Lane will be closed to traffic to allow placement of the top lift of asphalt. Phase 5 work will begin along Tennis Lane from 57th Street to Louise Avenue.

Residents along this area will not have street access to their driveways or garages during this phase of the project. Vehicles parked along Tennis Lane will be towed at the resident’s expense.

This work on Phase 5 work is anticipated to be complete in two working days.

The project is anticipated to be complete by fall of 2019.
